Lack of updates so you will pay attention to A7 giveaway
Honesty always seems to work wonders with everyone. Why lie? No updates. We want you to be paying attention and participating in the A7 giveaway everywhere.
So if you don’t have your entry in for the A7-700. Get in on it!
Still though. A big free sub isn’t bad is it?
I’ve been reading a lot of company blogs lately trying to get a feel for whats in so to speak. I must have missed the boat. I feel like while we have a good handle on technology but we absolutely stink at whats in most of the time. Our blogs are always more focused on the human factor and the idea that we’re real people.
This blog is not going to be any different.
Despite the lack of updates. We aren’t sitting still. This week (thanks largely to the weather) we’ve spent a lot of time testing and doing R&D. I’ve spent a lot of time staring my computer. Today that meant outside.
LMS and a new mic. Everyone is happy. On days like today we clear the parking lot and do some good ol’ ground plane measurements.
I know what your thinking. Janky looking towel right? I agree. The towel may be cheap but the money is in the good stuff…. The sub
One beautiful thing about being a smaller company is this. When things in the world start to get nervous that doesn’t mean we have to wait for our boss to cut our R&D budget. We just do more R&D. Your the boss. You like new stuff. So. We do new stuff. Without innovation there is no progress. Progress lately comes in the form of electronics modification, sealed cabinets, and various HT platforms. You keep asking for it right?
Thanks to R&D we just get to keep building massive custom center speakers.
Apparently more on the way.
There wouldn’t be things like massive DIY 13Av.2 kits.
Which despite my concern over spending the time on. Have gone over quite well. Good show Brett & Alex! Now as soon as there is a extra set I’ll take one home.
Production wise. Things are as is. It’s hard to get a good shot of new production type status’ when I know you’ve seen a million pictures of boxes and parts. In this case there was enough production this week I saw something I almost never seen. The woodshop was full enough parts made their way outside it :
A few other things out of the ordinary I grabbed some shots of around the shop. A client got a new A7-900 and wanted something with more of a personal touch. We ended up doing signatures on the back of the cabinet pre-paint of everyone involved in working on his subwoofer. This is the mock up. Not the cabinet cutout.
Some angled rings. These are always slick if nothing else becuase we don’t get to do them everyday!
We’ve continually tossed around the idea of doing a tutorial showing people how to do these. What do you guys think. Something you’d like to see?
This past few weeks we’ve noticed a shift in what people are bringing us at the office. There was a time when a 6 pack or two on a weekly basis would make its way through from some wonderful soul out there. Lately it seems to be all food. Wood vendors brought pizza, shipping companies bring ice cream. Then there is this girl who keeps bringing snicker doodles. Until this week I’ve never had a snicker doodle so I thought it fitting to share this. Snicker doodles are pretty awesome.

That girl’s name wouldn’t be Melanie? (Maiden name Webb?)
She was my neighbor in Salina, KS (and she always made me Snickerdoodles-along with making me act like Scooby-doo….doh, you know too much about me already!) She and her family moved away to Urbandale, IA.
…just maybe it’s her.

You guys are so lucky - I don’t even have a girl, much less one that brings me snickerdoodles!
