A2-300 Price Increase Planned

We’ve hit a pinnacle moment here at Elemental Designs with the A2-300’s.

The end result of a lot of discussions is simply this.

May 15th, 2009 price will go up on the A2-300 to $400 dollars shipped.

All current orders and orders prior to then will still get the $350 shipped price.

There are various reasons for this. Read on if your interested ;)

Here are the reasons for the increase.

1. Current orders are hampering production. We’ve expanded to the point where we need to be predictable for 6 months or more until we decide to start construction on another building.

2. To keep up and get to stocking inventory we must either start the new building now (which we feel is rather quick and a little too risky), go to Asia for the cabinets, or simply raise cost to help get the building done a little faster.

- It’s worth noting we don’t want to go to Asia for the cabinets. It’s not that we don’t feel Asian manufactures can make good cabinets. They can! However we lose things that make us unique. Such as.

  • EFS goes away. It’s a better material and we use it for a reason.
  • Risk of delivery issues with containers threatens to completely cripple revenue. If something comes wrong a 40ft container of slightly off cabinets isn’t something easy to fix.
  • We can make it ourselves. There’s no reason not to if it makes the product inferior and is done just for the sake of shipping a product we can sell for less money. We’ll have less pride in it and it just is not worth it.

This increase also comes with major advantages.

  • Production of the cabinets stays in Iowa.
  • We continue shifting the “entry” level driver production into Iowa and adding more jobs here.
  • We keep our current production numbers up with these cabinets and can keep looking at future improvements.
  • The product stays the “better” product you’ve come to expect.

For those who just aren’t interested at $400.00 we hope over time to earn and keep your business. Get in before the 15th of May and you’ll enjoy the same $350.00 shipped price.

We’re making a conscious decision at this point to grow our business here in Iowa and long term we feel this is the right decision to make.

Keep building them in the USA with US products! That is what sold me on the A2-300 when comparing to the Hsu STF-2. Also, since they are built in Iowa, I don’t mind waiting a month for the order.

You really need to make it clear that your subs are made in the USA. You need a banner on your home page! This little gem of info will give you an edge over the competitors.

I like “the built with pride in America” product. Maybe they make a decent product, but you make one that’s better and built with American sweat. Greta job guys, keep it up.

You should have this at the top of you’re web page.

Agree with the above posters, prominently display the Built in the U.S.A. Especially in these times we need to do all we can to support our local companies!!

  5. Dustin Says:

Wow… looks like if I am going to do this, I need to get my order in before the 15th. Is the A2-300 eligible for the package deal discount if I order satellite speakers at the same time?

These finely crafted cabinets backed by years of testing and design implementation
for the sake of quality is precisely why I want the product.

It is made by hard working midwestern ingenuity and its work ethics.
Shipping to America is made easier simply because of geography.

The world market pales to the superior materials and customer satisfaction.

We thank you for the opportunity to aquire the ED A2-300 before the pricing change.

  8. Don Venardos Says:

Raising prices during a recession doesn’t seem like the best idea, but if I read this correctly you have more orders than you can handle so raising prices will certainly help alleviate that. If I had to choose between $350 with a one month wait and $400 in stock, I would choose $350 with a wait, but that is just me. :)
