F-ING awesome…It would be sweet if you’d make some small 50×2 @ 2 ohm amps that small.

    Got any internal pics??

  2. 8675309 Says:

I like it, it reminds me of the Xtant 1.1. If you could focus on a 2 channel to match this 1 channel I think you would have something cool. I dont know if you will appeal to the market with it.

Build a small case big power 7 channel amp with full active crossovers in it.

  3. Greg T Says:

Id rather see 50×2 @4ohm in that footprint or something like that. Id benefit much more from a tiny 2 ch then a monoblock

  4. Greg T Says:

I wanna see this in production for sure

  5. scout62 Says:

    Full range?

  6. drew Says:

i agree if it where a 2 channel that small i would be all over it. i have a extended cab ranger and want to put my amps under my seats. i have one there now but not enough for another under the drivers i could stick this up in the dash and run my comps.

  7. Greg T Says:

the chipset it uses doesnt have extension that high or something liek that. ben said if this thing works out good a 2channel will follow

  8. Curt Says:

I like the idea, but yes………two channel - 50×2 @ 4 ohms would be good.

  9. Andy Says:

along with a 50×2 in the same size for about the same price, I’d buy them for my MGB i’m restoring and want good audio well hidden

  10. cedoman Says:

    hell yeah…

  11. Denis Says:

I’d love to see this one. Perfect for simple add on bass to a head unit powered mid/hi setup. Why go beyond that? If people want more then they should buy a bigger amp. Reminds me of the JBL BP150.1, but way smaller.

  12. ColumbusVinyl Says:

Looks like a great way to minimize footprint, and should pair well with some of the vehicle specific items.

    Approved :)

  13. DBXFX Says:

i would definately buy that if it was a 50×2 @ 4 ohms. it would be so useful in small cars. i don’t think that too many people have the need for a tiny one channel though.

  14. Ben Milne Says:

It’s a sub amp guys :) The primary pitfall we find when doing sales with a lot of our smaller box subwoofers that don’t need a lot of power is people don’t have many good options when using a SQ10, 9Kv.2, 7Kv.2 or the like. The only real options are the JBL 150 and a few MTX amps right now that we suggest on a daily basis. This really is meant as a subwoofer amplifier initially.

If the mono amplifier went over well a matching 2 channel is possible. However initially a 2 channel offering isn’t something we are ready to go to market with in any short time frame.

  15. Dustin (Spyder Z 15) Says:

I say go for it. Would it be able to work @ a 4ohm load and what would the power be for that?

I just bought a hardtop 300zx (rare car 1 of 87 made with my color and hardtop) that I want to keep the weight down in and if I could use 1 for each side of the front stage that’d be awesome and cheap.

  16. NIK Says:

PLEASE MAKE THIS. I CURRENTLY MAKE SUB BOXES THAT IN SPARE TIRES, AND THIS AMP COULD BE INCORPORATED INTO THE BOX. THIS THINK IS AMAZING. i COULD USE A HALF DOZEN RIGHT NOW

  17. _Keith_ Says:

Id be intrested in one… Can I buy that one? haha

  18. Derek Says:

I love except 200-250 watts would be more ideal. Also 2/4 Ch. small form factor amp would be nice to match. Maybe a 50-75 watt per Ch. for a 2 and 4 channel.

  19. Brandon Says:

I agree with the rest of the guys, I would much rather see it in a 2ch but both of them are great ideas. Why not put them out at the same time?

  20. drew Says:

yeah would i be able use this on a set of comps if i got 2?

  21. Brandon Says:

Hell yes I would love to see that in production! However, I am with the first poster who suggested a two channel version in addition to this one. I could see so many uses for a 2 channel version, especially where someone wants to run an active frost stage but doesn’t have the room for multiple or large 4-5 channel amps.

Very cool, I would definitely buy…. a couple! lol

  22. Ben Milne Says:

  23. Matt Robinson Says:

I think you need to make a 50×2 full range version and the mono block style one.

With the 2 channel people with small 2 seater cars could use these to power a front stage and easily hide it under the dash.

And the people with single cab trucks, and yet again 2 seater cars could use these to power a small single 10″.

  24. Jason Wolf Says:

This would be great. I have one of the custom TC boxes and this would be great to fit power in hidden places. Put it for sale and I’ll buy one!!

  25. Curtis Says:

Very cool little amp. Obviously it puts out enough juice to run a SQ10, 9Kv.2 or 7Kv.2 or you wouldn’t suggest that use. I could possibly see some interal enclosure mounting options for someone that is really cramped for space or something similar to a HT sub/amp all-in-one type of setup. Perhaps someway to link two of these amps together for some more punch in a tight little package might make it even more versitle.

  26. Guillaume Says:

    Yes for sure!!!
    Goog idea…good innovation from eD.

  27. Johnny Says:

Pretty cool! Could be nice if you were looking to use a little space a possible. Idea of cost?

  28. Marcus Says:

Make it would be perfect for my 9kv.2 d2 i don’t want too much power to it so this would be fine

  29. Pistons23 Says:

yeah that thing seems like a pretty good idea. what are the dimension on that thing?

  30. Bryan Says:

I would take at least one. I have really been wanting to add a sub to my 4dr Wrangler but there aren’t a lot of good places to put an amp in a topless jeep and expect it to not get trashed. This would fit under the dash easy!

If only Ed made a box that fit in the hidden storage compartment in the back of the jeep I would be set.

  31. JAM Says:

My question is whether this amp is rated conservatively.

The reason I ask is because a number of the mtx amps that you said you have been recommending are a little underrated. This would allow me to use a setup that called for 200w RMS and still not be under powering the subwoofer

  32. Typo_Knig Says:

    Cute lil feller.

    I’d buy a couple.

  33. el_chupo_ Says:

Why is the fusing so high for such a low power rating?

  34. RHLP3 Says:

I like it. Seems like a good cost / space effective way to add a sub to an adequate factory system.

  35. Mark Says:

looks awesome. sounds perfect for the limited space in my gto

  36. Chris Horne Says:

I picked up a few (6) of the EQHS8’s and they’ll run PERFECTLY with one or two of those (a TAD overpowered, but still the closest I’ve seen).

They are a perfect size and power for a lot of the smaller subwoofers.

    YES you should make them!

  37. Justin Says:

I sure would like to see it in production - looks like a kick a$$ little amp

  38. Alex Says:

It would be nice if it had a signal-sensing turn-on instead of the 12V+ remote. That would make it easier on people trying to integrate into their OEM systems.

  39. aaron Says:

    no way what a waste

  40. doug Says:

I would DEFINATELY buy one this would be perfect for my work van.

  41. Tony Says:

This would be perfect for the fiance’s car. Nothing too crazy, but enough to give her a little bit of a system to be proud of.

  42. Audiology@gmail.com Says:

that is sweet for active setups! one for each speaker!

  43. pat r Says:

um yea! i’ll actually buy 50billionty of them…… maybe like 3 or 4 to start but yea, sweet.

  44. John Stuart Says:

This is the sorta thing that Scion owners with the OEM Premium headunits would love. The HU has pre-outs but most only add a sub. That would be rockin’ for most as the stock front stage power isn’t all that great. If packaged with a sub and box, all-in-ONe.1 (ain’t I clever), you’d have something anyone could be happy with. And at $200 - $250, people probably wouldn’t worry about upgrading around it, or replacing it.

If you do make a full range version: module-style packaging would be desirable. Stackable/linkable, RCA daisy chain, Power daisy chain, Lego style, build your own amp from modules would be my suggestion.

  45. CorradoG60 Says:

Well it does have some potential because IMO think there is a market for small discrete amps. I have heard quite a bit from others on forums that look for the minimalist approach, and cars that just don’t offer alot of room (Imports 3 door hatches) out there.

But it is hard to tell just how large that market is. This amp kind of reminds me of when Fluke electronics corp. came out with the 1AC, Ac Voltage detector pen. They though that there was a small market for this, and around $20 or so a pop they would maybe sell 100,000 to 250,000 units. In true disbelief those things sold like hot cakes. NAd they were selling close too 2 Million units a year. So you never know.

For those that ask for a 2×50W amp with that footprint, may be a little tougher, cause as Ben said it’s a mono-block amp most likely Class-D? Which allows for a much smaller footprint and heatsink. Now a 2×50W would most Likely be a CLass A/B. While there is Full range Class-D amps out there. But I would think making one would start pushing the target price up. Not to mention the fact that it is not uncommon for full range Class-D amps tend to interfere with Radio reception due to the fact that the PWM power supply freq. has to be jacked up a lot higher to do full range and that high freq. switching tends to make bunch of Spurious RFI.

Now if they did do a Class A/B amp like that I would bet it’s footprint would increase, due to more cooling needed due to the lesser effciency of a CLass A/B amp.

But I Digress when I saw the size of the amp, It got the wheels turning as to what applications could this be most effective for. Like Standard cab trucks, small cars, convertables and what not. Where space may be a premium in certain cars, this could a winner, kind of like the old Fosgate Punch 30,45 and Soundstreams Lil’ Wonder. I at the least give it a thumbs up, for the fact in a day and market that pushes bigger is better, this could another little amp that could.

  46. Sentrixx Says:

I like it a lot. I mean a 2 channel would be even better yeah for front stage and such. But even so.. I like it like that. Small and easy to stash somewhere.. That’s a pretty kick ass idea guys..

    GO FOR IT!

  47. Robert Says:

very nice, i like the size. As everyone else, would like to see a 2ch 50×2 or any higher? still clean looking tho!

  48. Darren Says:

I love the idea, I am a big fan of compact powerful classy amplifiers. Reminds me of the older Soundstream Lil’ Wonder amps. If this was a complete line I would also include something like a 50×4 as well as a little stronger mono such as 225×1. 165w might not be enough to power some of the more power hungry subs that are out right now. BTW, is it class D?

  49. Tom Says:

Cool lil amp but I was really hoping it would be a 2 channel.

  50. Richie Says:

Nice idea but the watts per dollar seems a bit out of wack.
Some companies make smaller package amps that can be had for a much better dollar per watt number.
    I would defintely like a 2 chan option like this , maybe a 50×2 @4.

  51. Fallen Says:

Hmm any chance of them running at 1 ohm? Can we see their guts? lol I think its a great idea.

  52. Cdubb Says:

Thats a great idea. I would definitely but one!!

  53. pedro modean Says:

i under stand that you meant it for subs but a hp/lp crossover would be nice for someone that would like to power their speakers separately. 3 of those like that would make a sweet SQ set up.

  54. Cdubb Says:

How about a mini product line? A 2 channel and a 4 channel to match?

  55. Rob Says:

I think it’s awesome! I’m looking to add to a factory system in a Mazda3 and this would do it for me…whats the best sub to go with this?

  56. Ryan Says:

It is about freakin time someone make something this small. Bass (as in bass guitar) amp manufactures are putting little amps with lots of power. If this was actually made I could finally put a system in my car. I have a double cab tundra and believe it or not, there is not much room in that thing for amps. This would be killer.

  57. kyle morris Says:

i would order 2 tomorrow if i could….and a matching 2ch if it were available :-) all i have to say is this BETTER go into production

  58. Nick Says:

i love it. what are the chances of bridging two together? what kinda of architecture is it? what about overall efficiency and draw?

  59. Steve Lasher Says:

Nice amps. I think a little more power if possible. I would buy them. The size is amazing. Can fit in literally any application.

  60. Brendan Says:

I like it. As someone else mentioned, the wife’s car needs a little ’something’ and this would fit the bill perfectly with a sealed 9kv.3 or something.

    I say go for it.

And for the people who think it’s too pricey. $100-$110 (as the blog says) is quite reasonable in my opinion. Sure there’s cheaper, but cheaper doesn’t mean better quality in general.

I will say I’d love to see a small 2ch. to match. make it the same width and double the length or something along those lines. They’d look perfect lined up next to each other.

  61. Geof Says:

I’d be all over it. I think the price point is excellent. I agree, a 2 channel 50X2 would be really cool too. I have a Subaru OB Sport. I’ve avoided going to a non powered sub due to space etc. I think combined with the right woofer a very descrete package could be put together.

  62. Derek DeGroate Says:

That thing would be great for the system I’m planning for my car. I have an 08 Scion xD.. fairly small vehicle, and trying to do a fairly small install. That little amp would push an SQ10 quite nicely, which is the sub plotted for use in my install. Too bad Im trying to get the install done by mid-april. That amp is surely going to be a while before Im able to get my hands on one.

  63. Scott Says:

Guys, if you think 160×1 at 2 ohm is too little power for the chosen sub you are missing the point of the product. It is not designed to drive “power hungry” subwoofers. It is designed for small form factor, relatively efficient subwoofers. Go back and look at the subs mentioned - SQ10, 9Kv.2, 7Kv.2, etc. Think of taking stealth install flexibility to the next level. Certainly an excellent concept and much more power than I have seen in that kind of footprint (think T-amp at 15×2 into 4 ohms, about the same size…).

I would certainly purchase this. I long ago moved away from large format subs/amps and now install systems where the bass blends with the rest of the system as well as the stock interior of the vehicle. I want to hear all the sound coming from the front soundstage. Typically a 10″ sealed, small box driver of high quality with the crossover and gain set so you cannot localize, but can get a nice tactile feel on the appropriate tracks.

Of course, this is a much smaller segment of the market - so guaging interest/demand is difficult. I have installed a number of “stealth” systems for people who have listened to mine for an extended period and thought it sounded fantastic and was exactly what they wanted. However, after a few weeks they still think it sounds great, but are wanting more output, so it’s off to get bigger amps, more subs, less trunk, etc. Pretty typical buying cycle I think.

If you really push it from an application and sub-pairing perspective, you could likely do well. However, if they are still having to use a much larger, standard format amp to drive their front stage they aren’t saving any space over just purchasing a nice 4 channel and running the sub off 3 and 4. This is also a simpler, cleaner install as it is a single chassis. Does this relegate you to the person who wants to retain their stock system and only add a sub? Perhaps, which is a big hit to the available market.

  64. cbgoding Says:

looks awesome. unfortunately, my budget won’t allow for anything over 50 bucks for the next few months, and the stock subs/amp in my 9-3 can hold me over until then.

Can’t wait to be able to afford this and an sq10.

  65. Steve Says:

Are these built with B&O ICE mod’s?

  66. Moses Says:

This would be great i been looking for something like this for a custom center channel speaker for my truck.

  67. RotorsOnline Says:

I love the small form factor. I am all about the stealth / tucked away audio setup. I want it to look stock but sound better.
I am currently using two of your 7″ Subs in my 1999 Trans Am. That what be great because its small & mount virtually anywhere and I can use one per each sub. I would defiantly replace my 1000 watt RMS mono amp with two of these.

Yes please make them. I am sold.

  68. Wes Says:

If this is another Class D amplifier I am not interested. They do not have the sound quality for the upper frequencies and the world doesn’t need another Class D amplifier. If this is a Class T design then you should rush to production…not sure about a 30 amp fuse that only gives 100 watts but I am just a dumb consumer.

  69. Sean Connors Says:

I’ll take five right now @ $100 a piece if they can go full range. Don’t bother with the new cover, just paint it black and silk screen your logo on it. I was thinking of going with the NINe.4 for my system, but this would fit better for a completely stealth install in my 2007 4Runner.

I’d also like a 50 watts two channel @ 4 ohms or bridge to the 165 @ 2 ohms. A version that’s stable to 1 ohm would work wekk for my pkv2 dual voice coil sub. If that existed, I’d go for four of them. three for the sub, left and right channels. One of the two channel units to power the rear door speakers that don’t contribute much to the overall sound.

If you’re serious about producing these Email me. I want to be in on the Beta testing…

    :-)

  70. Deriklfixit Says:

I definitly see space for it in the market for it. I think your challenge would be convincing people of it’s power and/or sound quality. It may need plenty of advertising to get it out. I put an Xtant 1.1 in my mom’s vehicle on a single 10″, and I would have loved a cheaper alternative with the same footprint. There is definatly uses concidering its size.

  71. Xmplar Distribution AUS Says:

i think its great im looking for things like this if you could make them linkable or daisychanable with more than one or even get 200wrms or 250 at 1 ohm that would be soo sooo coool as it would do sweet theings for the full stealth installs ive been looking at the new t class amps coming out for a while but this is probably the most poewrful small one ive seen if you can makem more powerful that would be awsom and linkable say link up to 6 in a daisy chain like the steg k comps or somthing you could do a whole lot of things with amps that small especially if the can produce some good power even get a quad 1 ohm sub and make the amps 250@1ohm then run 1 amp t each coil that would be cool to i like i think make them and make them more powerful and also less powerful like 2×50 and 2×100 or even 1 by 50 what sort of effenciy do they have around 85-90% if so those active systems would be looking at some good al fasihned tripath circut tech in them

    hhmmmmmmm very sweeeeeeeet

  72. Joel Says:

I would definetly buy one. Like most everyone else said, a 50×2 @ 4 or a 75×2 @4 at this size would be amazing, as it would fit under almost any seat. Huge thumbs up!!

  73. Trushar patel Says:

this is awesome, goes well with my EHQS 12″ powerwise its just beautiful, im definately pro production on this lil brute

  74. valant_94gt Says:

I really like the Idea of the very small footprint. Couple that with a sub that requires a tiny box and you have a nice stealth install.

This reminds me of a US Acoustics amp I have, 2075 , 75×2@4 its just about the same size too, very small.

I’ve run sub’s off of it, I’ve also run multiple sets of components. They all sounded great.

I would definitely buy one of these to match my other amp, or if a a/b is offered I’d buy both!

  75. Pyxster Says:

Awesome amp. I think a series of these would be great, as most are saying. 50×2, etc. these would allow for easier locations in small cars, like my xB. and be great for stealth installs. (does anyone still do those?)

  76. Chris Says:

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! If it functions like it should, that would be a huge help to those with little room to work with.

What is the hopes of a multi channel amp in a similarly small package.

  77. Dave Says:

    I’ll take three please.

  78. masonsjax Says:

yes yes yes yes yes a thousand times YES!

  79. tamu1996 Says:

I’ll be the one to really play devil’s advocate here……………

I love the idea, number one, and a 2-ch version would also be fantastic, but if I were to really dream big, a 3-channel version would really solve a lot of problems for me and others. Something like…………

    50W x 2, + 165W x 1 at 2 ohms…………and a footprint even twice as long as this prototype would still be considered “small”.

I do installations just as a hobby, and many of my “customers” don’t want to do major modifications to their vehicles, but want a small subwoofer and more oomph out of their factory speakers, or an inexpensive pair of comps up front. Installation space is at a premium in many vehicles, with manufacturers seemingly designing vehicles to thwart aftermarket systems.

Additionally, if a 3-channel version could be had for around $200, I’d be recommending them to everyone.

There’s just nothing on the market that I’m aware of that would fit the bill perfectly. A 3-channel version would be awesome.

    Call it the NINe.3

    –Ryan

  80. snipe523 Says:

I think this would be awsome paired up with an SQ10. It would be perfect for someone like myself that has kids but still wants a sub in the car. I could throw an SQ10 in a fiberglass box in the corner of the trunk, tuck this into a cubby hole somewhere, and still have plenty of room for a stroller in the trunk. This is something I could see myself buying. If a two channel of similar size were to go into production I would probably pick that up two.

  81. snipe523 Says:

I forgot to add to my last comment that this would also be awsome to run a pair of 6X9 subs tucked in the factory location in the back of most cars. You could have decent bass output with almost no extra space taken up.

  82. jjewell Says:

i would love to see this amp in a full range setup, same size, same power so you could run 2 amps for a front stage. great work and awesome looking little amp. if you build they will buy(including me).

  83. psv Says:

I love this amp, and I love the price point. I can think of quite a few applications for it, personally.

  84. Sam V Says:

WOW for such a small amp thats crazy, love it. If thats a small one how powerful do you make them? Im sure this would be very popluar product.

By the way i dont know if anyone’s noticed - theres a smiley face on this page right at the bottom if you scroll down just above where your browser says ‘Done’, bottom far left !!!! i thought it was a mark on my screen lol

  85. Buck Says:

It has potential. Wish yall would come out with a 1500-2000 rms watt mono sub amp. Especially to power those HAXO subs that came out.

  86. Eric Says:

I am kicking around a couple of idea that I could 2 or 3 of these. Please put these into production.

  87. regal Says:

any way to decrease height? i want to see a 1″ tall amp…

  88. Mike Says:

    @ Buck: a 1500w RMS amp already exists….it’s called the Nine.1…….

  89. Nick Says:

I like it. It just may solve the problem I am having with running a midbass but not having enough power and having to buy too big of an amp just to power what I need. I could only imagine the possibilities with a stock sub that comes in the back of some new cars. I would replace the speakers with one of yours and have the luxury control of a crossover not just an eq. I hate having to turn down the bass when it is taking it too many freq. that it doesn’t need. Please make.

  90. Buck Says:

    @ Mike. Not 1500rms at 12.5v.

  91. Greg T Says:

@Buck the nine1 does well in excess of 1200 rms

  92. mjordan Says:

deffinently should go into production. i would sell/buy 10 myself and im only 17. just think, 6ga home wiring, $30-45 pair of 8″ Tangbands(sorry) and cheapeasque $10 rca’s, paired with a nice sealed .5cu/ft application mounted into the rear deck for under 200..nice.. plus that amp size would be awesome to mount a pair hanging from the rear deck..lol

  93. adam Says:

How about killing 2 birds with 1 stone, make it a bridgable 2 channel, 50×2 @ 4ohm, ~150w at 2 ohm bridged. That would be SUCH a useful amp for everyone with that small of footprint, and very flexible and clean.

I do like the little amp though it definatly is cool, simple, but putting out power at 2 homs for subs with such a low power rating, not many are always D4’s, or S2’s.

I like it though, keeep it up.

  94. Ben Milne Says:

Wow! Talk about a insane response!

Unfortunately it’s not as easy to slap in a few different components to make it a 2 channel amplifier. As it was originally designed as a monoblock as that was the application per the larger client. That’s how it’s done.

Currently doing a 2 channel out of the blue wouldn’t be a cost effective thing for us to do. If the first production of the monoblock’s went well and sold well a 2 channel could be in the pipeline.

Due to some limitations in development funds we just don’t have the extra funds right now to be working on the 2 channel to get to market. We’d need the first few productions of this design to go well to get to that point. Going to start with the mono and see how it’s received if people support the project. This design is great but certainly does has some quirks about how quickly and easily it can be retro-fitted into other channels.

I’m astounded by the interest in this little sucker!

Hell yes! This would be awesome. I want the 2 channel too! This looks like a great size amp to mount under the seat.

All these crazy Ideas of different configurations. Guys, Guys, Guys. It’s small and respectivly powerful for it’s size. But there is a reason for how small it is and only 2 Ohm operation. 1) Class-D is more efficient thus needing less heatsink. 2.) the processing for class-D amps has a smaller foot print on a PCB (i.e. Less and smaller components). 3.) Going to 1 Ohm requires a beefier powersupply section and components.

The whole more power, more channels in the same footprint just doesn’t work well if you keep it class A/B, And going Full range Class-D or using the Tri-path Processing from TI (And I may be wrong here on this) is a little more spendy.

Just what I was looking for.
With as much car audio theft that goes on, I have been thinking about designing
a stealth system for my sons Scion TC.

I understand big bass. But sometimes the point of a sub is not world domination.
Combined with the TC sub offering, this looks like a viable solution.

You could put that thing just about anywhere. I imagine the specs are understated
compared to other brands. I would buy one today if it were made available.

On another point. For the size you could have one amp per small sub, vs a large
amp that could not be hidden.

  100. Denis Says:

I think people are losing sight of what the purpose of such an amp is for by wanting a 2 channel. Guys, remember this. It is so much cheaper to go with a viable small four channel amp if your looking for full front stage control + sub. With the numerous woofers on the market containing different voice coil configurations & power requirements handling it’s not a problem if one thinks out of the box.

This amp is perfect for someone running a stock or aftermarket head unit, especially one that has built in x-overs for the front stage. This amp’s wattage will match that perfectly being all speakers are of good quality and high efficiency. Why go beyond that? This is not for people trying to do a full blown setup. It’s apparently for those who are happy with the HU power and want to add a small 8″ - 10″ DVC sub for a little added bottom end. I think it fits that bill perfect since there will hardly be any sacrifice in space as well. I think it has it’s place just like the old mini Blade sub amp did back in the 90’s……

    Simple enough……

  101. Joe Says:

Perfect. Perfect power, perfect price range, perfect size.

  102. Bob The Builder Says:

    its pointless.

in what application is a small amplifier even needed?

if you could make an amplifier, the size of a single din unit, 4 channel, 50 - 70 watts per channel, then that has a use, but a small, low powered, single channel amplifier has no real application in a car audio environment.

  103. Morgan Says:

I’d buy one of these, if only just to use for a computer sub amp.

“”"in what application is a small amplifier even needed?”"”

If you do that silly thing called reading. You’d see its ideal for small subwoofers.

Where do I sign? I wish I would have had this 4-5 years ago when my shop was around.

  105. Scott Says:

Would you be able to mount this amplifier inverted (say on the underside of the rear deck between one or two IB subs) or would that not allow for proper heatsink operation under continuous use?

  106. Ben Milne Says:

You could mount it upside down no problem. That’s no reason at all you couldn’t mount it to a rear deck.

  107. PGT Says:

I’m looking for something basic for my beater Cherokee. I’ve got two pairs of CDT separates (cheap ones) and I’d like to build a side panel 10″ enclosure (should have bought one of the EQHS10’s when I had the chance!).

A small amp like this would be perfect….a mono model would be good, but 30×4 + 75×1 with xovers or something similar even better (or make them 2ch but 2ohm bridged mono stable). Crutchfield has some 2ch Blauchunks on clearance for $59/ea….three of them would work and be cheap as well, but wiring up and hiding three amps is a bit of a PITA

  108. Tuan Says:

I really like how its small and all, but ideally for car applications I think sometihng a little more spread out, but THINNER. I have a honda fit and to fit an amp that TALL just won’t fit under the seat. Maybe this is great for in the dash stealth systems, but I think that most cars have open area under the seat and the spare tire.

    If you could build:

A pentagon/hexagon amp for the spare tire with a hole in the middle to attach to the spare tire tie down

    or

A flat, 1″ thick amp the width of 2 butt cheeks, for under seat applications: I’d get it.

Well, I for one can think of at least one application. My ‘06 GTO came with a 35wx2 amp to push two 6.5 subs in the rear shelf. If I could replace the stock subs with a pair of 7Kv.2, an amp this size could replace the stock one in the factory location so that I wouldn’t have to give up my already small trunk space. As it is now, I have to build an amp board and attach it to the fuel tank wall in the trunk just to mount an amp.

Yeah…saving space is a good thing. Still being able to hear my music is even better. I’d gladly buy one of these amps if they were produced.

  110. Grant Says:

tiny is nice… this is the future of car audio. make em’ sell em’ and make amps with more channels.

Make another amp just like arc audio ks 125.2 or bridgeable to 250.1. supposedly they have a 4 channel on the way. They might be beating eD to the punch. I like eD but what benefits does this have over the arc?

  111. charge Says:

Comparing one company to the other all I can do is pull from my experiences. From the 2100’s I sold to buying NINe.2′’s. The NINe.2s have more power and I can’t hear a difference comparing two products on the market. Given dollar per anything I put eD a notch above Arc without a doubt. Then again I don’t pay my bills selling arc anymore so i can say things like that :) the fact that we are sitting here comparing eD to arc says a lot of good things about Elemental Designs. If eD beats arc to the punch at anything that’s pathetic on arc’s part. I’m glad I’m not selling 12v anymore though. It’s nice to finally be a consumer.

  112. Grant Says:

Yeah i agree. and the “per dollar” is why I like eD so much.
    Make that amp

  113. cptomes Says:

Very cool. I woul dbuy at least two.

  114. Dee Says:

“in what application is a small amplifier even needed?”

The same applications that you pay mega bucks for on so-called “premium” stock systems which are a fluke. They’re non adjustable, non versatile, and have far less power to actually be satisfying. Sad part is some of the speakers used aren’t that bad, but the power applied just isn’t enough to get proper performance. There’s plenty of decent budget drivers that will match well with this amp.

This style of amp beats them hands down and makes for a very versatile stealth system. Think out of the box for a minute…. If there was even a continuation into multi channels I’m quite sure there would be many sold & used for complete system upgrades, especially for those not wanting to spend tons of money and waste valuable space.

I say build some and see how fast they go!

  115. punosion Says:

    I’d buy 8!

No, seriously…would love to see this in production.

  116. Parker Says:

    I want 2 NOW!!!

  117. Mark Says:

I would want something like this even for home. Why? Because I moved to the opposite end of the world so moving back and forth is difficult.

Also for cars like the MX5 where you are fairly limited by space, this amp would be awesome. It could be used to power a low profile sub to save as much room as possible in the boot (trunk).

  118. twoblacklines Says:

Dont forget guys if you wanted to use this as a 2 channel just buy 2, run one as left mono one as right mono, use a processor or headunit for crossovers. or even go for 4 of them in active mode.
