It is June
and that means the meet is almost here.
For those of you not familiar with our yearly meet. It is an open house weekend. We invite our friends from all over the U.S. to spend a nice relaxing weekend at our manufacturing facility.
Discussion page for this years meet.
Here are some blog’s from previous years:
Its a little bit of fun for everyone. We not only have car audio fun, but home products as well. This year we have plans for some exciting products in the demo room for people to listen to.
Lots of fun and games over the entire weekend. Starting Friday night and rolling into Sunday afternoon when most start to head out.
Some of the events on the schedule are as follows:
Group dinner
Eating contest
New product demo/releases
Termlab mic for car SPL measurements
Demo room with new products for movie/ music listening.
Our friends at FedEx are also going to sponsor the beverages for Saturday night.
Night activities include movies and video games being projected on the side of our building. (This has been a blast in the past. We plan to have a Nintendo power pad hooked up for track and field tournaments)
A full schedule of events will be released this week along with registration.
To think, this will be the 6th year of the meet.
Now onto some of the more recent projects here at Elemental Designs.
A2-300’s. The lead times are decreasing quickly. We have increased our production staffing allowing us to be one step closer to have A2-300’s in stock and shipping same day.
We filled Roy, our FedEx drivers truck that day.
Custom CNC machine work. We have said it before, and will say it again. We can cut pretty much anything with the CNC machine, it does not need to be audio related.
What you see here is are personalized kick stand coasters. Its put underneath the kick stand of motorcycles when parking on dirt or grass. This prevents the bike from sinking and tipping over. Our friend Jay with The Piston Pin Harley Works ordered a thousand of these guys for an upcoming bike rally.
Building others designs. We dont just build things that we design. In the special project que we have two fun projects.
The first is for our friend Z. Hes having us build a center channel design for 7 drivers. The cabinet is sealed and made from 1″ EFS.
Tons of bracing.
Sprayed in a new primer to fill in any imperfections before our new black finish is applied.
Here is a photo of the unit after being sprayed. Waiting to be flipped and sprayed one last time.
I cant wait to see this unit after assembly.
The next project involves some mahogany ply for a slightly modified Super-v kit. We will be doing the assembly on this unit.
This is going to be just beautiful.
Last we have a wedge 12″ box with amp rack built into is. I snagged a photo of this a week ago, but have not had a chance to put it up yet.
Around the shop.
We all know what this means.
Another A7-900 in the building.
It was a hot one last week and the week before. Our industrial fan belt broke. Why is it that things break at the worst times?
Notice our recycling of EFS? We cut little cups to put bolts, screws, and other parts into around the warehouse.
Im upset that I didnt get a photo of this beast. It was a beast of a dual 19Ov.2 vented enclosure. Hopefully Anthony packaging it can give you an idea just how large.
We have another one on order at this time. I will make sure to get photos of that one.
With the meet coming up, we knew we needed a different music solution in the warehouse. The solution was taking some pro gear prototypes and putting them to work. Needless to say, the warehouse has the ability to be loud.

7th meet
First one was much smaller, I believe that was was so old it was organized through SIN.
Meet 1 - North Liberty and I wasn’t there
Meet 2 - North Liberty and I ate dog food
Meet 3 - Newton and I can’t remember doing anything particularly stupid
Meet 4 - Newton and I did a hand stand in a roughly 2 year old can of eDead/bean pong
Meet 5 - Newton and we dropped my TV from a forklift
Meet 6 - Newton and I wasn’t there
Meet 7 - Newton and I will return

I factored in the first North Liberty meet, which I was not at either. My math is not the best.
Lets see:
2004 - Unofficial first meet, I was not there.
2005 - Original Av.2 breakage with beer and Bass gravy. Dodeca tearing walls apart.
2006 - Garrett smash, and Spv.2 burnage
2007 - First A7-900, colored fire, and I had hair.
2008 - Painting Casey’s Escort and stun gun.
2009 - Crashed my car on Friday during lunch. Joe crashes beer pong table as Police officer walks in.
2010 - Who knows. Its going to be great.

Dillpickles,
That wasn’t at the meet was it? I thought it was some random weekend hanging out in Newton. I remember it being super hot and humid. The clippers kept gumming up.
You going to try and make it this year?

Alex, you are right. It was a random evening at your house. And it was gross

Hello ED,
Is it possible to ask you to build a powered (active) bookshelf speaker for PC use?
I am not yet an ED owner, but am already a lurking fan of your products.
