Introducing eDead Version 5 - cTherm
We are constantly working towards improving and diversifying our eDead product line. For the past year we have been working on formulating a new liquid eDead product geared towards heat reduction.
We introduce to you…..eDead version 5 - cTherm.
What is cTherm?
It is a charcoal color water based polymer infused with ceramic microspheres. The product is light and low density. It also remains flexible. We add anti corrosion chemicals to prevent rust.
What does cTherm do?
cTherm can be applied to the inside of a vehicle to reduce heat transfer into the cabin. This can be applied to the doors, floors, roof, firewall. Pretty much anywhere you would like.
The ceramic microspheres reflect unwanted heat back out of the cabin of the vehicle. This can help lower your cabin temperature by as much as 30 degrees.
On the other side of this application, it works great in winter time by helping to keep heat into the cabin.
The material can also be applied to heater ducts to increase the efficiency.
How do you apply cTherm?
cTherm is very easy to apply. You can use either a paint brush or spray gun.
The product is applied in 2-3 layers making a total thickness of 50-80 mils. Allow material to partially dry between layers. Each layer should take between 45 minutes to an hour and a half depending on temperature and humidity.
We suggest applying the product at temperatures no lower than 55 degrees.
How do you clean up cTherm?
Any over spray or spills can be cleaned up with water and soap before the product has time to cure. Your paint brush can be cleaned with water as well. No special chemicals are required for clean up of the material.
What about sound?
The cTherm also does a great job at reducing your midrange and upper frequencies. It starts to bridge the gap between between a mass loading product like the V3, and an upper frequency sound absorbing foam like the v4- Teklite. The foam like density of the product actually helps absorb frequencies, but is applied like the V3. Due to its slightly higher mass it also helps with a slight reduction or rattles.
Being thermal, what about heat?
The product is self extinguishing and has a thermal rating of over 400 degrees. You have to worry about your upholstery bursting into flames before failure of the V5.
